Hi <3 How are we feeling these days? Soon the last sweat drop of summer will evaporate from my mustache and dry palm tree fronds will fall (a sign of autumn in LA), and Spirit Halloween, and schools will be in session, and next thing it’s “we lose an hour tonight! set your clocks” but really the only clock I have is on my stove, so “set your stove” and suddenly it will be dark at 4:30 pm once again and girlies who love fall (me) will RISE and there will be memes, or at least a feeling of celebrity, regarding us.
This week’s issue is a list of things I’m into for this month. End of summer edition! I pay attention to the discoveries I make on the reg, what I’ve liked over the past few weeks, before sending this email to you. I hope you find something for you, whether it be an idea, a place, a thing, or a feeling. Enjoy.
10 things for August
1) Planning nuptials
I’m excited to get married and have been from the start. But I’ll be honest! I never wanted a conventional wedding before, and still don’t. I think it’s important to follow your own unique path—even if that means tuning out other people’s opinions or expectations. As someone who’s participated as a bridesmaid in many weddings, I found it hard not to refer to those events as examples for what my own wedding should be like. I come from a big family (who loves celebrating/livin’ large) and at the early stages of planning, I was mostly thinking of them, what would be best for the family—instead of focusing on my relationship with David and what’s best for us.
